is a Quechua word that means COMMUNITY,

pronounced I - YOU,

or Ayu, which is the Sanskrit word for LIFE,

and the Indonesian word for BEAUTIFUL.

Ayllu

 We are diverse artists with similar visions to do what we can, from who we are, to build an inclusive and empathetic global community on the soil of abundance and authentic generosity.

Our work is a counter-balance to the western model of society that feeds chronic dissatisfaction, social inequalities, and environmental destruction.

Our artistic and educational initiatives are based in the fundamental Andean concepts of

AYLLU - community, which includes the human and non-human ecosystem,

AYNI - reciprocity - to each other and to the sacred earth;

and the Filipino concept of KAPWA - a shared inner self.

These ancient philosophies transcend time and nationality,

and are even more important now in this era of loneliness and uncertainty.

We believe that through international solidarity,

we can maintain vibrant communities in our homelands,

sustaining cultural pride in a living culture,

not a melancholic nostalgia to a lost one.

We believe in the health of the collective.

We believe in the power to plant seeds.

There is no stronger force than that of a seed.
